About the Books
What ages are CeCe and the Super 6 books for?
The series is designed for children ages 4 to 9, from beginning readers learning their first sounds to children ready for more advanced phonics patterns.
Where should my child start?
We recommend starting with Volume 1 because each book builds on the skills taught before it. If your child already knows short vowels, consonant sounds, and can blend simple words, they may be ready to begin with a later volume. We suggest reviewing CeCe's Reading Map first so they understand the system used throughout the series.
What does my child learn as they move through the series?
Volumes 1–5 build a strong foundation with short vowels and consonant sounds. Volumes 6–8 introduce long vowels, Volume 9 explores the many jobs of y, and later books move into vowel teams, diphthongs, consonant combinations, and more advanced spelling patterns.
What is the POP Method?
The POP Method is our step-by-step phonics system. It uses a scaffolding approach, which means children learn one sound and skill at a time, then build on what they already know. Each new step connects to the one before it, so reading feels manageable instead of overwhelming.
Are these workbooks, storybooks, or both?
They're interactive, story-based phonics adventures designed to help beginning and early readers learn to read. Children help CeCe solve problems, discover new sounds, read words, and complete phonics activities as the story unfolds. The learning is built into the adventure, so kids practice reading while using each new skill to move the story forward.
